SALARY RANGE: $42,000 - $46,000

POSITION OVERVIEW:
NeighborWorks Salt Lake is looking for a dynamic, people-oriented Community Outreach Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in building relationships, engaging with the community, and developing initiatives that foster connection and positive change. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build Relationships: Develop and nurture meaningful connections with residents, community leaders, stakeholders, and partner organizations, particularly within Salt Lake City’s Westside communities.
Develop Outreach Strategies: Design and implement initiatives that encourage residents to engage with NeighborWorks Salt Lake’s programs and services.
Coordinate Community Events: Plan, organize, and facilitate activities that promote community engagement and align with the organization’s mission and goals.
Support Individuals and Teams: Provide assistance to residents and stakeholders, ensuring they feel heard, supported, and empowered to improve their lives.
Communication and Collaboration: Act as a positive and approachable representative of NeighborWorks Salt Lake, both in-person and through written and digital communication.
Follow-through: Manage ongoing outreach projects with consistency, ensuring community programs maintain momentum and meet long-term objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are highly desirable.
Minimum 2 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
Community outreach or engagement
Nonprofit work, advocacy, or grassroots organizing
Event planning and coordination
Public relations or communications
Working with diverse communities, particularly in Salt Lake County or similar urban settings
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust quickly and inspire participation from diverse communities.
Ability to listen actively and show empathy, providing ongoing support to individuals and groups.
Adaptable and patient in changing environments, balancing multiple outreach efforts.
Creative problem-solver who enjoys inspiring others to take action.
Comfortable with planning, coordinating, and following through on events or programs.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as:
Community Development
Social Work
Public Administration
Nonprofit Management
Urban Studies or Planning
Communications
OR equivalent experience in community outreach, nonprofit work, or a similar role will be considered.
Valid driver’s license, valid vehicle insurance, and a dependable vehicle are required.
Ability to pass a background check.
